The Culture of Pixeron

Our culture is just as important to us as our services. We dedicate the same energy and passion to what we offer to our market, as we do to the way we work and think. The reason our culture is so strong is because it is based on a personal story, which reflects the reality of thousands of people in the world.

In fact, part of our mission is to amplify the message behind our culture in order to generate awareness and impact the corporate world, governments, and society.

The main principle of our culture is putting people’s lives at the center, for which we have created our cultural manifiesto where Pixeron fiercely stands for:

1.- A child-centric world

Children ARE the center of humanity, or in my eyes they should be. They are our present and our future. They need love, attachment, education and attention. They need time, a lot of time. They need to rely on a primary caregiver, especially children in their first years of life. This first period of time is when they develop their cognitive, emotional, and psychological bases for a lifetime. Shouldn’t this be taken seriously?

It’s clear that children ARE the center of their families, but they are currently not being considered the center of society. In our view, governments, organizations, and companies should put children first, and develop policies, programs, and initiatives with the objective of ensuring their complete and optimal well-being.

Within the working culture, companies and organizations should develop, along with governments, special programs to ensure parents are able to care for their children and truly be there for them.

At Pixeron, children are part of our community, and at the center of the company. We will always ensure that parents (as everyone else), can work with flexibility and efficiency. Pixeron offers special options for mothers and fathers with babies and little kids to reduce workload and time by half, and be able to be there with them during these important years of life. Also, our general work schedule will always be aligned to school schedules, so parents may be with their children when they’re not at school and have a family life. We want parents to dedicate time to their children, raise them and enjoy life with them.

2.- A life-centric working culture

Work is exciting and an important part of an integral human being. Nevertheless, people must work to live but not live to work.

Today’s demanding work culture has transformed people’s lives into a sad reality of spending the majority of people´s time awake working. There are some countries (such as Norway, Germany, and Netherlands)  that mark exceptions to the rule by working less hours and offering flexible , but in the western culture the long working hours are predominant and established, created and strengthened by old-school work practices.

We believe work should be just one of the many important activities of a person’s day, rather than being the one and only activity, leaving little or minimum space for other things. We believe that everyone should have time for personal interests and occupations. And we have confirmed that by implementing new working practices, work might be done more efficiently and better, driving into amazing results.

At Pixeron, work is flexible and efficient. Our main principle is that our people have a life, and that Pixeron is only part of it. We want people who vibe and enjoy life. People who prioritize family and self. People hungry to learn, curious, who want to eat the world, to improve. People who care about themselves, their people, their community. And for this, people need time and space, which will be found at Pixeron.

3.- A women-centric mindset

There is still a long way to go for women equality, which affects different areas of a woman’s life. Within the working environment, there is an evident gender gap which has been difficult to reduce especially speaking in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field where women represent less than a third of those employed and face unequal conditions, situation that concerns Pixeron directly and where we want to take action on the matter.

Women need support, and today, the world needs a women-centric approach in order to create whatever is needed to reduce inequalities and gaps. Women need options, as options create opportunities for us to be independent and self-reliant, two important factors to reduce some aspects of inequality.

At Pixeron, we favour women for job opportunities as we have a strong commitment to reduce gaps and contribute to reduce disparity. We want the women and men in our team to have a women-centric mindset, which means always thinking of practices and decisions that can favour the reduction of gender inequality. We commit to favour the recruitment and retainment of women, and help them advance in the technology field.

These three pillars build our working culture created to suit life.

Our culture is the essence of Pixeron, and I personally commit to carry it out, improve it, and evolve it so that it always meets the needs of our people.
